This is the 40th day of the strike, but the 67th day going without a salary! Professor Njogu explores the highs, the lows, the promise, the mirage and the reality of both the profession and the sector. Being forced to laugh at himself as a professor, and wonder how he hungrily ever wanted to be what he now is! Wondering whether he is just a cog in a wheel hurtling down a dangerous road towards damnation. He not only reflects on career but also on familial dynamics, parenthood, marriage and otherwise. Maybe we should say he made his bed and must lie on it, maybe! Because what pleasure is there in acquiring all the learning there is and then coming to work in an education sector like Kenya's? But hey, there is hope ...at least he knows where the problem is. He must fix it for his daughters' sakes. He must right wrongs, in whatever quirky a manner he will... he must!
