Running time: 100 mins
drama, music, romance
After the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic cripple their music business along the Kenyan coast, Salma and Biko are forced into a desperate arrangement to survive. With beach hotels closed, cruise ship gigs gone, and mounting financial pressure from their son’s urgent heart surgery, the couple secretly “opens” their relationship for money. As Biko struggles to save enough to return to America after his deportation years earlier, Salma becomes involved with wealthy widower Morgan, a grieving tourist visiting the coast. Unaware that Salma and Biko are married, Morgan forms a deep connection with both — bonding with Biko over jazz music and finding comfort in Salma’s companionship. What begins as a survival strategy soon spirals into emotional conflict as hidden ambitions, betrayal, grief, and unexpected affection threaten to destroy the fragile bond holding the couple together.
